08/22/08 E-mail Note & from Chris (Bacon) Abramowitz '90...
I just finished fumbling around on the LinkedIn site (I'm soooo clueless) after joining and here's a message from you already. I'm not sure I'll use it much for now because I'm staying at home with the kids. As my second daughter approached preschool, I had planned on getting back to work, but then daughter #3 surprised us, so the professional world is on hold again unless I can convince my husband to give up his Army career and stay home with the kids. I haven't worked in almost 5 years, and I have a feeling that I'll have a lot of catching up to do technology-wise when I finally do return.
Thanks for the quick update on you guys. How old are your kids? Girls/boys? What is Kelly doing these days? I didn't know you were down south! What do you like about it? I have been wanting to move back to the western NY area for years now (I grew up in Niagara County) but it just hasn't worked out. Here's my version of a 20-year synopsis: Met my husband, Jeff, in law school and got married in '96. Worked at law firms in NYC and Westchester for a few years. After our first child and Jeff's second extended military deployment as an Army Reservist, he took an active-duty tour that brought us to Prescott, AZ in 2004 where our second daughter was born. Another active-duty tour brought us back east to RI last summer and Jeff deployed to Iraq a few months after we got here. A week before he left we discovered that we were unexpectedly expecting baby #3. She's here now, but he's still not. He's due home in October and I'll be glad to have this past year behind us. Thanks again for getting in touch. It's great to reconnect with old friends. Hopefully I'll figure out how to use on-line networks without too many faux-pas!
