As promised a few weeks ago, I've finally set aside time to catch up on all the updates that the website required. 2011 was an incredible year for the Alumni of Delta Kappa, most notably with the successful fund raiser for the new A&E Center at Ithaca College. We raised over $110,000 thanks to the efforts of several of our brothers, most notably Mike Serventi '72, who tragically died a few weeks ago in a bike accident. Having visited the Center this past winter break, I was blown away by the facility, but even more impressive were the several acknowledgements of Delta Kappa's contribution to the Center. I've updated the Alumni Notes and Photo areas with more about the Center and those involved.

The Fraternity also said good bye to an old friend last year, the Delta Kappa Lodge. The property was sold and those funds were used to settle any outstanding tax debt, Brother's out of pocket expenses for those property taxes and the remainder; $30,000, was also given to Ithaca College for the A&E Center.

For 2012 a new initiative is under way, being led by Carl Mazzocone '78 and Peter Schottland '77. They are putting together a scholarship fund in honor of Joey Parella, who died April 1, 1980. The idea is to honor Joey by creating this fund to sponsor students from his hometown of the Bronx and create something that can sustain itself in perpetuity.
